Hexagonal Bar
Typically referred to as Hex Bar, this bar type is also known as Hexagonal Bar. The vast majority of the metal created in a steel mill or an aluminum plant is processed (by rolling or extruding) into long, continuous strips that range in size and form.
The most common bar forms include a hexagonal bar, a square bar, a rectangle bar, which consists of a square bar because it is an example of having equal sides, and a round bar, which is also referred to as a rod. Other less common bar shapes include the octagonal bar.

The primary application for stainless steel hex bars is in producing various components, including nuts, hex bolts, and specialized features such as Thermowells and hex head plugs. All of these components find widespread use in a variety of different types of businesses all over the world. The austenitic or ferritic variety of stainless steel makes hexagonal ss rods. However, this would depend on the final application of the rods. For example, austenitic grades of stainless steel have a stronger resistance to corrosion than ferritic grades.
The stainless steel hex rod is the material of choice for applications that demand a high level of corrosion resistance. If a magnetic, good wear resistance, superior resistivity, higher hardness, and more rigid stainless steel is required, ferritic grades are utilized in producing hexagon stainless steel bars.
