Deformed bar
The surface of a Deformed Bar is purposefully made to be more abrasive so that it can further enhance the bond between the steel bar and the concrete being used. It is done to strengthen the bond further. In reinforced concrete structures, deformed rebar is frequently employed to apply tension since it has a higher tensile strength than regular reinforced steel bars.
It is because deformed rebar also has a ribbed surface. The surface roughness of the deformed reinforcing steel bar, in contrast to that of standard round steel bar, helps the concrete to better adhere to the steel bar, which is the significant distinction between the two types of steel bar. The standard round steel bar has a smoother surface. As a direct result of this, once the concrete has sufficient time to set, the steel bar will have a significantly reduced potential to slide or shift within the concrete, resulting in an increased degree of stability.

Compared to the reinforcing bar that is smooth and round, which has a rating of 250 MPa, the deformed bar has a rating of 500 MPa. In the building trade, a deformed bar is a material that sees regular use and is essential for constructing concrete structures. Concrete performs well when subjected to compressive forces but poorly when subjected to tensional forces. A distorted bar is embedded into the concrete to increase the compressive strength and the tension to give the appearance that imperfection does not exist. Deformed bars are an excellent choice for construction since they provide superior cohesiveness to concrete compared to round steel.
